Chicago lists Wisconsin one of 31 states in travel ban

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) --- Chicago updated its emergency travel order which now lists Wisconsin as one of the 31 states included on Tuesday, Feb. 23.

Wisconsin is listed as yellow tier, which does not require quarantine or pre-arrival coronavirus test.  However, Wisconsin remains under an advisory to avoid non-essential travel, according to the Chicago Department of Public Health. Health officials still require strict masking and social distancing.

Yellow tier ranks states with 0.0 to 15.0 average daily cases per 1000,000 residents.

States in the orange tier require either a 10-day quarantine or negative test before arrival in Chicago.

According to Chicago health officials, Wisconsin sits at 12.3 per 100,000 for daily infections. Wisconsin was previously listed as a red state Nov. 13 through Dec. 31, and downgraded to an orange state Jan. 1 through Feb. 21.

The list is updated every other Tuesday and goes into effect the following Friday at 12:01 a.m. The next update will be Tuesday, March. 9.
