Children's Learning Center at UW-Milwaukee to reopen Tuesday after flooding
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Children's Learning Center at UW-Milwaukee will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, after flooding caused a temporary closure Monday, Jan. 12.
According to Interim Director Rebecca Grassl, the main floor toddler wing and some common spaces -including hallways and gyms- were the most impacted areas.
A letter to families says there may be fans and dehumidifiers running when children return and some areas of the facility may be alternated in use as repairs continue.
"Campus partners and contractors have assured us that the building is safe for children and staff," the letter said, in part.
It goes on to say most classroom materials and equipment were not impacted.
The learning center will return to regular hours with a 7 a.m. opening on Wednesday, Jan. 14.
