MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- An open house was held at the Milwaukee Public Library East Branch Monday, to discuss the city's transportation and mobility plan.

It's the Department of Public Works' new vision to help residents get to and from where they need to be in the easiest way possible.

Although it's a project that could span a number of years, the purpose of the open house was to hear the public's feedback on what could be improved in the short term.

"So, a big part of these open house meetings is making sure that whoever is working with the Department of Public Works, vision aligns with the community's vision in those priorities," said Danya Littlefield, senior transportation planner.

This was the first of a series of open houses happening this week across the city.
