MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The city of Milwaukee officially submitted a bid to host the Republican National Convention in 2024.
The application highlights the city's entertainment venues, the culinary scene, Fiserv Forum, and more.
One Wisconsin Democrat says he's on board for the RNC, but did call for an inclusive event.
"I think Milwaukee and I think Wisconsin in general are wonderful places to hold major events," said Wisconsin Democratic Party Chair Ben Winkler. "I hope that, if the Republican National Committee decides to select Wisconsin, they will have a convention that is inclusive and reflects our best values as a state instead of the kind of nightmare of division and demonization that we've seen in past Republican National Conventions."
Milwaukee was prepared to host the Democratic National Convention in 2020, but that event became mostly virtual because of the pandemic.
