CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Authorities responded to a fire in Milwaukee's Bay View neighborhood Thursday morning, Dec. 11.
The Milwaukee Fire Department was called to the home shortly after 8 a.m., and found fire in the basement of the home, first floor and it was spreading to the second floor.
More crews were called in to help extinguish the blaze due to the extent of the fire and cold weather conditions.
"The cold does impact us quite a bit. It impacts us how we set up our equipment. We have no other option then to set it up in icy conditions. We take time to make sure the ground ladders in particular are safe to operate on," said Ron Firnrohr, deputy fire chief with the Milwaukee Fire Department.
Authorities say all occupants of the home made it out safely.
The fire remains under investigation.
