MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 54-year-old man has been charged with second degree reckless homicide in connection with a multi-vehicle crash that left five people injured, including a 1-year-old child.

The crash happened Thursday, June 6. Police say around 4:22 p.m., a driver collided with another vehicle near 25th and Villard and continued traveling at a high rate of speed before colliding into a third vehicle stopped at the traffic light on N. Teutonia Avenue.

Officials say the impact of the collision caused the second vehicle struck to hit a third vehicle, the third struck a fourth, and the fourth struck a fifth vehicle.

The driver of the speeding vehicle was identified by officials as Jamie Lee Douglas.

According to a criminal complaint, Douglas stated in an interview he couldn't remember anything from the crash. The complaint says, Douglas admitted he normally does not drive because he has a condition that causes him to have seizures. Douglas told investigators, according to the complaint, he traveled to get a haircut and the crash happened on his way back home.

Douglas reportedly told investigators he believes he had a seizure prior the crash.

The complaint says, Douglas had been involved in a driving incident in 2014, in which he had a seizure while driving and his wife had been killed in the collision. After that, Douglas reportedly said his doctor told him he should not drive anymore because of his propensity for seizures.
