Multi-vehicle crash leaves 5 injured, including 1-year-old; man arrested

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a serious crash that left five people injured Thursday, June 6. 

Police say around 4:22 p.m., a driver collided with another vehicle near 25th and Villard and continued traveling at a high rate of speed before colliding into a third vehicle stopped at the traffic light on N. Teutonia Avenue. 

Officials say the impact of the collision caused the second vehicle struck to hit a third vehicle, the third struck a fourth, and the fourth struck a fifth vehicle. 

The driver of the speeding vehicle, a 54-year-old man, was arrested and taken to an area hospital with non-fatal injuries. 

Police say the driver of the second vehicle, a 75-year-old, was extricated from the vehicle and taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

The driver of the third vehicle, a 56-year-old, along with their two passengers, a 1-year-old and 56-year-old, were all taken to a hospital with non-fatal injuries. 

Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County DA's Office.
