MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 19-year-old man from Albany, Wis. has been charged with armed robbery and first-degree reckless injury in connection to a carjacking and stabbing that took place in Milwaukee on Monday, Aug. 12.

Aaron Rogers is accused of using a knife to force a woman from her car near the intersection of Florist and Appleton, according to a criminal complaint filed in Milwaukee County Circuit Court.

Police say Rogers caused significant injuries, including a stab wound to the victim’s neck, and fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.

The complaint states Rogers asked the victim for a ride before allegedly attacking her with a knife while she drove. The victim fought back by grabbing the knife’s blade, biting him and hitting him. Rogers then reportedly climbed onto her lap, forcing her out of the car, before driving away.

A witness is quoted as saying he approached the situation and heard the victim say, "I've been stabbed in the neck," as she was already on the phone with police to seek help.

Rogers was identified through surveillance footage and tips submitted to Crime Stoppers. Police arrested him on Thursday, Nov. 21.
