Cool weather sticks around for now

NOW: Cool weather sticks around for now

A taste of fall rolled in for the weekend and is here to stay. High temperatures in some areas Sunday didn't even reach 70 degrees and most stayed in the low 70s. Similar temps can be expected most of this week with highs hovering around 70 most of the week. Wednesday could be the warmest day with highs in the mid 70s.

The low temps Monday morning dropped into the upper 40s in a few western communities and into the low 50s for everyone else. Lows might be even cooler for Tuesday morning with a few more 40s.

53 degrees for a low in Milwaukee is the coldest in 72 days since the middle of June when the low dropped into the low 50s On June 14th. The last time Milwaukee has had a low in the 40s was when we dropped to 43 degrees the morning of June 1st!

Just like the temps, the dew points have dropped as well and are off the charts, in a good way, Monday and Tuesday in the upper 40s. Low 50s for dew points are expected on Wednesday which is still very pleasant.

Temperatures are expected to stay cool and well below-average through Labor Day weekend. And we are likely done on the big heat for the year. Sunday was the latest date for a record high in the triple digits. The record for August 24th (Sunday) is 100 degrees set in 1948. But, we could still get some warmth in September. 90s are not too unusual in the month.
