Dangerous heat for the weekend

A large dome of high pressure will send highs into the 90s this weekend. This heat wave could last possibly for three days, from Saturday until Monday. Not only will highs make it into the 90s, heat indices could soar well into the 90s and close to 100.

Milwaukee has only hit 90 degrees once this year. May 27th we hit 95, the warmest high ever recorded in the month of May. Other parts of the area had more than one day in the 90s in May. The hottest day does appear to be on Sunday with 90s likely. Humidity will be a problem as well with dew points into the 60s and 70s. This will make it feel even more miserable.

The heat will break by early next week along a cold front. There could be some showers and storms on Friday night and early Saturday, then again on Tuesday. If you’re spending anytime outside, please stay hydrated, out of the sun as much as possible, and apply sunscreen as much as possible.
