Dodge County Sheriff's Office investigating fatal motorcycle accident

DODGE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Dodge County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a fatal motorcycle accident.

Deputies recieved a report of a motorcycle lying off the road with a rider nearby that appeared to be deceased.

It happened around 1:48 p.m. on County Highway R near County Highway MM in the Township of Lebanon.

Upon arrival, responders found a deceased male near the motorcycle. No other occupants were located.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcycle had been northbound on CTH R, failed to negotiate a left-hand curve, entered the east ditch, and the driver was ejected.

Both the cycle and the occupant came to rest in a cattail marshy area.

The investigation remains ongoing.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.
