Double shooting near 40th and W. Fond du Lac leaves 1 critically injured, suspect in custody

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a double shooting that took early Wednesday, Jan. 17 near 40th and W. Fond du Lac.

According to authorities, there was an exchange of gunfire between multiple suspects, resulting in two victims sustaining gunshot wounds.

A 36-year-old individual was treated for a non-fatal injury, while a 29-year-old arrived at an area hospital facing life-threatening injuries. The events leading to the shooting remain under investigation.

Police detained a 27-year-old suspect, but additional suspects linked to the shooting are being sought. Charges against the apprehended individual are pending, awaiting review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
