Driver at Oak Creek Power Plant injured after crashing into tractor

OAK CREEK, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A contract employee was injured at the Oak Creek Power Plant campus early Tuesday, Feb. 11, according to a We Energies official.

Oak Creek police tell CBS 58 that the employee was driving a pickup truck within the property while a bulldozer was exiting a coal storage pit and crossing the same road. The truck then reportedly hit the bulldozer's blade, leaving the truck driver trapped inside.

Fire responders were able to extricate the truck driver and transport him to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The injuries were described by We Energies as being a leg injury.

The driver of the tractor was not injured, and police say the accident is under investigation.

We Energies said that the accident did not have an impact on operations at the plant.
