Driver dies after medical emergency causes dump truck to veer off I-94 in Oak Creek

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 51-year-old man died Monday morning after experiencing a medical emergency while driving a dump truck along I-94 near Ryan Road, the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office said.

The incident happened not long after 6 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29.

The driver lost consciousness and the dump truck he was driving veered off the freeway before rolling to a stop in an adjacent ditch, according to the sheriff's office.

Emergency medical responders arrived at the scene, but the man did not survive.

The sheriff's office said the incident was not a crash but rather a medical emergency that caused the driver to lose control of his vehicle.
