Drought conditions ease after multiple rain events this month

It's Thursday and that means the weekly drought monitor is in! I have good news to report too. After back to back weeks of level two drought for southeast Wisconsin, thanks to the record dry May, we are seeing improvements thanks to a wetter June.
Yesterday's rain tipped over a half inch for Milwaukee, isolated spots picked up over an inch. Multiple rain events this month as starting to get us back to normal. As you can see the level two or "moderate" drought area has been shunted to just western Jefferson county. June averages 4.38" of rainfall. At this point we are getting close to satisfying that and with twelve days left in the month we are sitting pretty good. In fact, we are currently sitting at 13th wettest start to June through today's date. We have isolated shower chances later this evening, with little to no accumulation expected. Then, we have spotty rain showers possible later tomorrow evening as well, That could drop up to a quarter inch of rain. We also have rain chances Sunday and Wednesday of next week. Keeping a nice steady flow of rain chances every few days is exactly what we need to keep lawns green, flowers happy and agriculture working at its best!
