WISCONSIN (CBS 58) — Week 4 of the Wisconsin high school football season kicked off Thursday with a smaller slate of games, but several ranked teams and Milwaukee-area matchups still provided plenty to follow.

One of the night's biggest games featured Division 3 No. 8 Whitefish Bay against Division 2 No. 6 Menomonee Falls.

The Blue Dukes came away with a 22-18 victory over the Phoenix, with both teams moving to 3-1 on the season.

Another ranked matchup worth watching saw Division 2 No. 10 Grafton travel to Nicolet. The Black Hawks put together a strong offensive performance, defeating the Knights 49-28.

Division 1 No. 9 Appleton North, making its debut in the rankings this week, survived a close matchup against Fond du Lac with a 14-13 victory. The Lightning improved to 3-1, while the Cardinals fell to 2-2.

Division 3 No. 3 Homestead took care of business at home, rolling past Waukesha West 49-7.

Division 5 No. 5 Racine Lutheran remained perfect with a dominant 42-0 shutout of Milwaukee Academy of Science. The Crusaders improved to 4-0, while the Novas dropped to 1-3.

Racine St. Catherine's also earned a shutout victory Thursday, defeating St. Thomas More 37-0. The Angels improved to 3-1, while the Cavaliers fell to 0-4.

Week 4 continues with a full slate of games Friday, Sept. 11, as teams across Wisconsin return to the field while communities mark 25 years since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
