MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- It's time to grab your green for the 55th annual Shamrock Club of Wisconsin Saint Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday.
Irish dancers from the Beglan Academy kicked off the excitement Friday at 3rd Street Market Hall, along with appearances from Milwaukee leaders, and Milwaukee's honorary St. Patrick.
The Shamrock Club's parade is one of the longest-running St. Pat's parades in the country.
It starts at noon Saturday, featuring marching bands, bagpipes, dancers and more.
While there's plenty of snow on the ground, parade organizers say they're ready for it.
"Our partners at the City of Milwaukee have been working hard to clear the parade route in time for our big event," said Stacey Callies, Executive Director for Westown Association. "We've been working with all our private property owners on the route to clear the sidewalks and the curb line, to make sure our spectators have a great environment."
The route begins in the heart of downtown at N. Martin Luther King Dr. & W. Wisconsin Ave. It continues through downtown, ending at Water St. & Highland.
The full celebration starts Friday night, with the ShamROCK kickoff party at Lucky Clover Irish Pub.
Saturday morning is the 36th annual St. Patrick's mass at St. Patrick's church, before the parade.
There's also a post-parade party starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Irish Cultural and Heritage Center.
