High temperatures on Wednesday reached the 80s for almost all of southeast Wisconsin. It was the warmest day in over 200 days since September of last year!

It was the first time this season that Milwaukee reached the 80s which is about two weeks earlier compared to the average.

The high of 83* in Milwaukee broke a record high temperature. We also broke a warmest low record when we only dropped to 58* Wednesday morning. Thursday is also likely a record breaking, and even shattering, day with high temps expected to reach well into the 80s beating the current record of 79* set over a hundred years ago.

In addition to the heat, the fire risk is still extreme. Very warm temps, dry conditions and a decent breeze all combine to increase the fire risk. A Red Flag Warning has been issued once again for dangerous fire conditions. The wind is not as bad as Wednesday but still strong enough to spread any fires that spark quickly.
