The fall chill in the air this morning isn't here to stay quite yet

It was a chilly morning across southeast Wisconsin with inland locations dropping into the mid to upper 30s!

Milwaukee only fell to 48°, but today does mark the average date of our first night in the 30s of the fall season.

Over the last few years, our first night in the 30s has occurred later than average.

Temps weren't cold enough to produce frost last night, but it wouldn't be uncommon to see frost in inland spots this time of year. On average, inland locations typically experience a killing frost in early October. This happens, on average, during the back half of the month lakeside.

Night time temps won't be as cold for the rest of the week with lows in the 40s inland and lower 50s lakeside.

Daytime highs remain near to above average as well with temps in the upper 60s to low 70s.

A cold front moves through early Friday morning, which may trigger a few isolated light showers. Download the CBS 58 Ready Weather App to see the full 7 day forecast.
