MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Bob Uecker's family said their final goodbyes to Mr.Baseball. 

A private ceremony was held on Friday, Jan. 24. 

It comes just about a week after the voice of Brewers baseball died after a battle with cancer. 

In a statement, the Uecker family expressed their gratitude for the people in his hometown. 

Saying "To the Brewers, our entire family is so grateful for the opportunity to spend over fifty years as part of your family. He never had a bad day at the ballpark, and this was because of you."

The family also confirms that a public celebration of life is being planned for this summer.
