Update: 2 killed in crash near 13th and Layton

Milwaukee (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Saturday, Jan. 15 around 3 a.m. near 13th and Layton, just east of the airport.

Police report a vehicle was traveling eastbound on Layton Avenue, when it crossed the median. It then collided with another vehicle that was traveling westbound. Officials say the passenger of the striking vehicle, a 30-year-old Milwaukee woman, was killed.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle, a 29-year-old Milwaukee man, sustained serious injuries and succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
