MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – April 14 marks Milwaukee Day!

People across the city are celebrating everything it has to offer, both online and virtually.

Beginning at 5:30 p.m. live music will be streamed through the Milwaukee Day website.

Imagine MKE, an arts and culture coalition, is also taking part. A new video was released celebrating the city and those who live here.

“[It] highlights our city and our region’s artists, creatives and arts and culture organization,” Imagine MKE CEO David Lee said.

Imagine MKE is also asking people to submit their answers to the question, ‘How will you move Milwaukee forward?’. The responses will be used in a future art project.

“I think what people are going to tell us is that they can’t wait to get back to in-person contact,” Lee said. “They can’t wait to give people hugs, they can’t wait to sort of continue to connect and be inspired by our city’s incredible, rich creative community.”

Beginning at 4:14 p.m., 414 Milwaukee and Nomad World Pub are teaming up to give out free beer to people who show their COVID-19 vaccine cards.

“As a tribute to everybody who did their part... It’s just a way to honor people in Milwaukee," 414 Milwaukee owner Fred Gillich said. "People feel proud about saying they're from Milwaukee."
