Firefighter injured at Oak Creek apartment fire this morning

OAK CREEK, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Oak Creek police tell CBS 58 there was a building fire today, Saturday, Oct. 21 around 10:15 a.m. near Oak Creek and Puetz.

According to the police, first responders saw heavy smoke coming from an 8-unit apartment building.

The fire was out within 10 minutes of other fire department units arriving on scene.

There was major damage to the building, but the fire was isolated in one unit.

One person was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and a firefighter was treated on scene for a minor injury.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
