After a cold start to the day with lows dropping into the low 30s and even a few 20s Thursday morning the rest of the day looks pretty sunny until a round of rain arrives at night. Rain, including the chance for a few storms, will roll in starting late Thursday evening through early Friday.
The best timing for rain looks to be from 10 PM Thursday through 8 AM Friday. After the rain wraps up, we quickly become sunny going into Friday afternoon with more sunshine and dry conditions on the way for the weekend.
The rain Thursday night is our first good chance at rain in over a week. For the month of October, Milwaukee has only picked up 1.18" of rain which is almost a full inch below the average of 2.10" and even farther below compared to last year.
The rainfall Thursday night likely won't make up that entire rainfall deficit but it will help. Most of southeast Wisconsin gets 0.25-0.75" of rain the next 24 hours with most around a half inch or less but areas that see storms or downpours getting more.
