Fond du Lac man sentenced to life in prison after 2022 stabbing

Fond du Lac County District Attorney. FOND DU LAC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- 59-year-old Gary Davis was sentenced to life in prison on Friday, June 21, after a stabbing that killed a woman in 2022.
Davis was charged with the following:
- First Degree Intentional Homicide
- Mayhem, Repeater, Use of a Dangerous Weapon
- Hiding a Corpse
According to a criminal complaint, officers responded to a welfare check on E. Merrill Avenue and located a 51-year-old woman, Jacquelyn Rooney, deceased.
Detectives learned that Rooney and Davis were dating and lived in the same apartment building, according to the complaint.
Later, authorities executed a search warrant and took Davis into custody.
Davis does not have the possibility of release, according to the Fond du Lac County District Attorney.
