Fundraiser to support juvenile diabetes returns to Evergreen Golf Club this Friday

ELKHORN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The annual Halbesma Family Golf outing is happening this Friday at Evergreen Golf Club. The family started the fundraiser to support juvenile diabetes research. They started the event after type 1 diabetes impacted their family firsthand. Izze Halbesma was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes seven years ago. 

"Last year we raised about 12,000 dollars. I’d say in total we’re probably at about 70,000," said Izza Halbesma.

For the first time, the golf portion of the event is sold out. If you're looking to support their cause, you can still come for the fish fry at Evergreen Golf Club and participate in the raffles on Friday, Aug.9.
