MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- It's about that time of the year again -- Girl Scout cookies are on the way.
In Milwaukee, a group of Scouts held a preview party Tuesday, to help promote their sales season, which starts Jan. 27.
This year, the Exploremores, are the latest addition to the batch, a nod to the Rocky Road flavor.
One leader says events like this are a great way to kick off the tradition.
"This is one of the busiest times of the year, this is where thousands of girls are selling cookies to their friends and neighbors," said Ana Simpson, chief executive officer, Girl Scouts Wisconsin Southeast. "All of the proceeds stay local, and this is how the troops fund their activities for the year, so it is really important that we can promote the start of our cookie season."
Exploremores are special edition cookies and will be around for a few years.
The mainstays, including Thin Mints, Caramel deLites, and Lemonades, will of course be in the catalog as well.
