Girls Rock MKE amplifies empowerment at 10-year anniversary gala 🎸

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee-based nonprofit organization Girls Rock MKE will host a gala celebrating its 10-year anniversary on May 10 with tickets being available now. The group aims to empower girls, women, transgender and gender non-conforming individuals through music education and performance.

The event will be held at Enlightened Brewing Company's tap room in the Bay View neighborhood and will commemorate a decade of youth summer music camps.

The gala will feature testimonials from co-founders Valeri Lucks and Ashley Smith, as well as dedicated volunteers and former Girls Rock campers. A video retrospective produced by Betty Allen of Seadog Creative will also be showcased.

Tammy Schliecher, Girls Rock Board President, noted in a Wednesday, March 15 press release, "We can't wait to look back on all that's been achieved as we raise funds and look forward to the next generation of Girls Rock in Milwaukee!"

The event will include a comfort food dinner catered by Honey Pie, beverages from Enlightened Brewing Company and Crafty Cow as well as a silent auction with offerings from local businesses.

Tickets for the Girls Rock Gala are available for purchase with prices beginning at $75. VIP tickets, which include reserved seating and a commemorative gift, are available for $100. Proceeds from ticket sales will directly support Girls Rock MKE programs.
