GLENDALE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Memorial Day is observed in places other than parades and town squares.
At 3 o'clock sharp, in a quiet neighborhood in Glendale, Mike Eklund stepped outside and played "Taps" on his trumpet.
When we asked about his performance, he had an emotional response.
"Kinda the least I could do for those that served and didn't come back," he said. "So I'm wearing this, as my cousin. He didn't come back from Vietnam."
"Taps," the bugle call that honors the men and women who died in wartime, was performed at 3 p.m. all across the United States.
