MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- After nearly two decades in Green Bay, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is jetting off to New York, according to reports.

Packers fans are celebrating all the success Rodgers brought the team but said they're also ready for a new era of green and gold football.

"I'm glad he's moving on. It's time," Keeve Jaffe said.

Some following the trade news closely told CBS 58 they feel content this decision is good for everyone involved.

"I'm happy for both teams," Charles Friends said.

Rodgers spent his entire 18-year NFL career in Green Bay so far, where he won a Super Bowl and secured four MVP awards.

"(I'm) glad Green Bay had him for those years because he did have an incredible run and he's probably the most talented quarterback that's played NFL," Tyler Ratcliff said.

As Wisconsin says goodbye to #12, his merchandise is marked half off at Green and Gold Zone in Greenfield.

The store manager told CBS 58 they're still waiting for Jordan Love apparel to arrive, but when it does, it will be placed at the front of the store.

"I'm just glad Jordan Love is finally getting his chance," Amira Rogers said.

Some Packers fans said they think Love is ready to replace Rodgers.

"If Rodgers taking over for Farve is any indication, I think that yeah, we're going to have a very interesting year this year," Devin Somerville said.

Fans are thanking Rodgers and wishing him well with his new team.

"Good luck, good luck to you," Friends said.
