MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Both of Wisconsin's gubernatorial candidates were in our area rallying support for their campaigns with about a dozen days left until polls close in the Badger State.
At Laborers Local 113 in Milwaukee, Governor Tony Evers and other democrats kicked off his statewide bus tour by rallying union and labor groups.
Evers was joined by fellow state democrats on the ticket, as well as U.S. Labor Secretary Marty Walsh.
The Democratic incumbent urged supporters to get friends and family to the polls to vote for his campaign.
"The difference between what we represent, as you heard today, and what the other side represents is night and day," Evers said. "We can't afford to go backwards as a state we have to continue going forward."
In Racine County, Republican Tim Michels showcased support from veterans.
Michels and fellow Republicans pointed towards what they called failures of the Evers administration in taking care of the state's veterans.
The GOP candidate said his experience as a veteran would help him lead in Madison.
"It's time for a change," Michels said. "It's time for new leadership, it's time for a Republican ticket that is going to stand for the working people of Wisconsin."
Senate candidate Mandela Barnes kicked off his statewide bus tour earlier this week while his opponent Ron Johnson launches his tour by bus on Friday, Oct. 28.
