Gwen Walz to visit Milwaukee suburbs to campaign for Democrats

MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Minnesota's first lady Gwen Walz will campaign in the Milwaukee suburbs Thursday for Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband, Tim Walz.

Walz will make a series of stops in the crucial WOW counties that surround the strongly Democratic County of Milwaukee. The WOW counties include Waukesha, Ozaukee and Washington.

Two of the three once reliable Republican counties, Ozaukee and Waukesha, have become less red in recent statewide elections while Washington has continued to be a powerhouse for Republicans.

Democrats have long tried to chip away at the GOP advantage in the WOW counties.

Walz's visit comes as she's been campaigning with Democrats in part of a "Fighting for Reproductive Freedom" bus tour with a stop in Michigan on Tuesday.
