Hot Labor Day with increasing humidity

NOW: Hot Labor Day with increasing humidity

The heat from the weekend will continue into Labor Day. After a warm and pleasant start Monday morning the humidity will start to increase and become muggy with high temperatures reaching well into the 90s once again. Expect lots of sunshine all day long!

The high of 94* in Milwaukee will likely break the record for today's date, September 4. We are also watching the record high for Tuesday. Tuesday is trending warmer and could get close to the previous record of 94. Recapping the weekend we saw back-to-back 90s both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday fell short of the record as expected but Sunday did tie the record set in 1939.

Even though it was hot this weekend, it wasn't too humid with dew points in the lower half of the 60s. Mugginess will return on Labor Day with dew points in the upper 60s but Tuesday and Wednesday will be even more humid. Both Monday and Tuesday could see feels like temps get close to 100.

Not only are we watching the record high for Monday's date but we are also watching the record high temps for Labor Day. Since Labor Day can happen between September 1-7 there's a lot of data to go through. The hottest Labor Day temp on record is 94* set in 1953 and 1874 so getting to 94* this year as forecast would also tie the record. It's been awhile since we've had good heat on Labor Day with 1973 the last time Milwaukee got into the 90s.
