MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The holiday spirit was in the air Saturday morning at the Betty Brinn Children's Museum as hundreds packed inside for the second annual Cocoa & Claus event.

More than 400 tickets sold out before the doors opened, with people of all ages coming to enjoy the festivities.

"We want to bring as many people in as possible but also make sure that it's still a fun and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone so being able to sell out before the day of the event was a huge win for us and very exciting," said Nicole Orlando, the museum's director of marketing and communications. "Our special events are a great way to bring in people who might not have been to the museum before."

Children got to play, create, and participate in holiday-themed activities. And of course, meet Santa who read stories out loud.

"It's cool that in Christmas, everyone gets to have fun and celebrate with each other," said seven-year-old Jane. "Merry Christmas!"

For Adelaide Rosolino, age 9, the arts and crafts area drew her attention first.

"Yeah, it's really fun," Rosolino said, while holding up her homemade pink Christmas tree.

Although this is only the event's second year, organizers said they hope to expand it in the future.

"Kids get to see Santa, we get to play, have some hot cocoa, relax," said visitor Nilaura Mercado who came with her family.

"Really enjoying it so far," added Alan Sorenson. "I think this is going to be a great family tradition for us for years to come."
