MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Hunger Task Force (HTF) and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield have renewed an important partnership to address health and food insecurity in Wisconsin.
HTF moves nearly 10 million pounds of food across the state of Wisconsin. A truck featuring the Anthem and HTF branding is one of the vehicles responsible for transporting all the food across the state.
Anthem will be continuing its partnership with HTF, contributing $900,000 over the next three years. The money will be used to help purchase, transport, and distribute the food.
"Access to healthy foods in a consistent manner is really important to maintaining health and this partnership is part of that strategy and part of our purpose of what we want to do here," said Mark Schneider, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield.
"Anthem gets that we need support and it can't just be like a little bit of support, it needs to be a lot of support," said Sherrie Tussler, Hunger Task Force executive director.
The two organizations have worked together over the course of the pandemic and are excited to continue to help feed families here in Wisconsin.
