CBS 58 MILWAUKEE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Sunday, 2,300 runners crossed the finish line for the Annual Girls on the Run 5K at American Family Field.
"I feel amazing and proud of myself," said Rohimah Fhamsulalam, who ran the 5K.

"It's all about supporting each other and you will see this time and time again out on the course, a girl is never going to be left behind," said Tina Jones, the Executive Director of Girls on the Run.
For these young girls, it's about the lessons they learned to get there.
"Show kindness in everyday life and how to like have a bold heart and be patient with people and stuff like that," said Emmalyn Lowe and Emily Scheu, who ran in the 5k.
The program helps the young girls build healthy habits, learn life skills and build confidence, all while training for a 5K.
"It just fills my heart so full to see these young girls and their beautiful smiles and their brave personalities here," said Jones. "To just get out there and do really hard things."
With hundreds of people cheering from the sidelines, these girls say it's all about moving forward through the tough times.
"Never give up, even when it's challenging and always preserve through hard things," said Scheu.
Celebrating their hard work and looking forward to the new challenges ahead.
"No one is ever going to take away the fact that they've crossed this finish line," said Jones.
