CBS 58

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Messmer High School student was nearly abducted on their way to school Friday, Aug. 30.

A letter sent from Messmer High School Principal Shenora Jordan said around 7:20 a.m., two students were followed on 7th Street -- just south of Capitol Drive -- and attempted to abduct one of the students by picking her up.

The victim's sister reportedly helped fight the predator off and both girls ran to the school and alerted staff.

The Milwaukee Police Department was called to the school but no person fitting the description was found.

Police are investigating the incident as child abuse.
