Investigation underway into cause of Watertown structure fire

WATERTOWN, Wis (CBS 58) -- The Watertown Fire Department reports it was called out on Friday, Oct. 28th around 3:43 p.m. to a garage fire at 300 Lauren Lane.

Additional fire units and paramedics were brought in to assist at the scene, where according to Watertown FD, heavy fire and dark smoke were coming from the eves of the townhouse.

After the fire was put out, it was determined that the units had working smoke detectors.

All residents were outside of the structure.

There were no injuries to residents or firefighters reported and the Red Cross is helping the residents affected by the fire.

Damage is estimated at $180,000.

An investigation is underway to find out the cause.
