Is this your dog? Searching for owner of dog found at Racine County truck stop
RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A dog was found at a Racine County truck stop and the group that captured him wants help finding his owner.
"It's heartbreaking, because all he wants is to be with his daddy or mommy," said Kristin Wilson, the executive director of Billy's Posse.
Billy's Posse is a lost dog recovery team in southeastern Wisconsin. They were called to the Pilot Travel Center in Franksville Monday night.
They posted on social media, saying the dog was very scared but they managed to trap him Tuesday.
Billy's Posse believes the dog could belong to a truck driver, who may not have been able to stay and look for their lost dog because they have to make their delivery.
"We started noticing him chasing certain sounding trucks, so it's like he got left behind because somebody had to leave," said Wilson.
They took the dog to Wisconsin Humane Society in Racine. He'll be on a stray hold until late Saturday.
Billy's Posse wants to find the owner before then, so the owner can claim before the dog goes up for adoption.
"His time is up the end of Saturday," said Wilson. "Sunday, he becomes the property of the shelter. If he is not adoptable, they will look to euthanize unless we can get a rescue or look to foster for us to redeem him."
If you have any information or are the owner, contact Billy's Posse.
