Kenosha man arrested, suspected of setting fire to boat at Racine marina
RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Authorities arrested a 27-year-old Kenosha man Friday, Oct. 20, suspected of setting fire to a boat at Reefpoint Marina in Racine.
According to the Racine County Sheriff's Office, dispatch received a call around 5:09 a.m. reporting a boat engulfed in flames.
Deputies, Racine police officers and firefighters responded to the scene near Christopher Columbus Causeway and extinguished the fire.
Officials say the boat was not occupied and there were no injuries, however there was extensive damage to the boat and dock. The Racine Fire Department estimated damage to the vessel and its contents near $105,000.
Investigators identified Kenneth Koger III as a suspect in the arson and transported him to the Racine County Jail after locating him in Kenosha County.
Koger is being held on two counts of arson with a $10,000 bail.
Sheriff's investigators and the Arson Task Force continue to investigate.
