Kenosha police investigating threats to 2 middle schools, suspects arrested
CBS 58 KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- School shooting threats at two middle schools in Kenosha are under investigation.
Police say Bullen Middle School and Lance Middle School both received threats Tuesday, Feb. 17.
They say both students believed to be involved were arrested.
Lance Middle School said they were made aware of a school shooting threat that was made to peers on the platform Discord.
In an email to families, the principal said in part, "Threatening statements create fear and disrupt the sense of safety in our school community. We ask that you talk with your children about the seriousness of making or repeating threats."
Bullen Middle School said they received a tip via Speak Up, Speak Out, and that "appropriate disciplinary action will be taken."
"We understand that situations like this cause great concern for our students, families and staff," the school said in part. "Please know that student and staff safety remains our top priority."
No guns were found on the teens or at their homes.
Students, families, and staff are encouraged to use Speak Up, Speak Out to report any safety concerns.
