Kenosha police reckless driving pursuit ends in Illinois

KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A pursuit involving the Kenosha Police Department ended in Illinois,

Police say an officer observed a vehicle traveling recklessly and was "well in excess" of the speed limits on Sunday, March 2. It happened around 10:00 a.m. near Sheridan and 82nd. 

An officer attempted to stop the vehicle, and the driver fled south into the Village of Pleasant Prairie. Police from Pleasant Prairie assisted. The pursuit continued into Winthrop Harbor, Ilinois. Winthrop Harbor police was waiting to assist.

The pursuit ended in Winthrop Harbor where the vehicle stopped, according to police. 

There were 5 occupants in the vehicle, and the operator was a 16-year-old juvenile. 

Police say the use of stop sticks helped bring the pursuit to a safe end.
