Waukesha police respond to shots fired call near W. Main St. and Wisconsin Ave.

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- CBS 58 is on scene where a large police presence can be seen near W. Main St. and Wisconsin Ave. near the Wisconsin House in Waukesha. 

According to the Waukesha Police Department, they received multiple shots fired call in the area and responded to the scene. They evacuated citizens for their safety. 

At this time the situation is ongoing. CBS 58 on scene can see multiple Waukesha squad cars, and officers in swat gear along with a drone in the air. 

Waukesha Police Department's Tactical Unit and negotiators are on scene and are working to secure it and bring the suspect into custody. 

Members of the community are asked to avoid the area at this time.
