MILWAUKEE (CBS 58)--Milwaukee Dancing Grannie Leanna Owen was laid to rest Friday, Dec. 3 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Owen was one of three grannies killed in the Waukesha Holiday Parade.

Relatives describe the aura inside the church as sad and painful. They say they're relying on sweet memories to get them through for years to come.

Owen was a dancing grannie for 12 years, a gracious and lovable soul.

"She looked beautiful, she was dressed gorgeous, they made her look sweet," Raquel Angeles said. She calls Owen her second mom. Owen's son is her best friend.

Owen was hit and killed at the Waukesha Holiday Parade Sunday, Nov 21.  A driver in a SUV plowed through the parade route killing six people and injuring several others.

"We never thought in a million years that would happen," Angeles said. "She was an awesome mother, she was an awesome friend."

Governor Evers traveled from Madison to pay his respect.

"It's sad, you hear a lot of people sniffing," Angeles said. "She is someone who will be missed."

The family says Owen leaves behind two sons.
