Major fire in vacant building near 14th and Burnham

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Fire Department responded to a vacant building fire near 14th and Burnham on Dec.17, around 11:45 p.m. 

Upon their arrival, MFD found a single-story vacant old McDonald's building with flames coming from the roof. Firefighters began taking down fencing around the vacant building and cutting down boards off the windows.

MFD used aerial ladders to spray large amounts of water into the building as a second alarm was called.

No injuries were reported, and no one was transported to the hospital.

The firefight lasted for 2 1/2 hours as Milwaukee police and the Milwaukee fire investigation unit will investigate the fire for cause and determination.
