Man charged, accused in deadly shooting of 2 teens in South Milwaukee

SOUTH MILWAUKEE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 22-year-old is accused of fatally shooting two teenagers in South Milwaukee.

The shooting happened near 5th Avenue and Bay Heights on Dec. 29. Ava Allen, 17, and Jaelen Yracheta, 18, were found dead in a car outside an apartment complex.

On Jan. 10, police arrested Brandon Randall, of South Milwaukee, in connection to the shooting. A firearm was recovered.

Police say it is known Randall was an acquaintance of at least one of the victims.

According to a criminal complaint, doorbell video helped investigators piece together what happened. Officials say video shows Randall get into the back seat of a vehicle occupied by Allen and Yracheta, and remained in the car for approximately ten seconds before gunshots rang out. Randall is allegedly seen reaching over the victims' bodies before exiting the vehicle.

Investigators say Yracheta's cellphone was recovered in a nearby sewer and text messages showed he arranged to sell marijuana to an individual -- later determined to be Randall -- on Dec. 29. The text chain, according to officials, shows Yracheta was messaging the number approximately two minutes before the shooting occurred.

While in custody, the criminal complaint says Randall admitted to possessing a Glock 17 Police edition, but said he got rid of it. When asked by an investigator which gun was used in the shooting, Randall allegedly said, "Glock 17, the police edition."

Officials showed Randall the doorbell video and he allegedly stated, "I'm gone for the rest of my life bro." According to the complaint, Randall then called his girlfriend and stated, "It's over, they showed me everything -- told me everything. And they showed me the video, I don't remember doing it bro."

The complaint says the Wisconsin State Crime Lab determined bullet casings collected from the scene of the shooting matched the firearm Randall admitted to possessing.

Randall has been charged with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide and two counts of felon in possession of a firearm.
