Man charged, accused of firing at Milwaukee police officers from second-story window

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A man accused of shooting at Milwaukee police officers is now charged with recklessly endangering safety. 

The shooting happened late Wednesday, Oct. 16, near Fond du Lac and North Avenue. 

Officers were responding to a separate call around 11:18 p.m. when they say shots were fired. 

Hyrom Stokes was taken into custody. According to police, Stokes admitted to firing a pistol, but says he wasn't aiming at police. 

A total of three firearms were found. Officers believe he was shooting from a second-story window. 

If convicted, he could face up to 15 years in prison and fined up to $25,000.
