Overnight Update: Broken line of sub-severe storms moving through
Updated: 11:30 p.m. June 5, 2026
The severe storm threat for the evening has pretty much ended. A broken line of storms that could have some brief heavy downpours and lightning is currently moving through. Most of that activity should wrap up by the early morning hours of Saturday. The rest of the weekend looks pretty dry.
Here is a current radar image that will update with time:

A line of strong and severe storms has started to roll into southeast Wisconsin. Currently some pockets of heavy rain are occurring over Fond du lac and Sheboygan Counties. We had a brief tornado warning issued for Dodge and Fond du Lac Counties around 9:20 p.m. for some reports of funnel clouds in Green Lake County. The rotation on the storms quickly disappeared and the tornado warning was canceled early.
Another tornado warning is currently in effect for Columbia County just west of Beaver Dam. If these storms continue on their current track and hold onto their strength they could be entering western Dodge County around 10:30 PM.
After this line of storms moves across southeast Wisconsin our severe threat for the evening will be basically done. We could see some lingering pockets of steady rain.

Finally, a decent batch of rain developed and put down some much-needed rainfall. The last time Milwaukee had this amount of rainfall was April 17th!
The rest of the afternoon and evening will be generally dry with an isolated chance for a shower or storm. The next best chance for rain and storms will come late Friday night into Saturday morning.
While widespread severe weather isn't expected, we can't rule out some isolated strong to severe storms. Winds and hail are the primary threats.
The best timing overnight will be from Midnight until 6 am. Storms will be moving out of our area by 7 am. Saturday is looking dry with the storm chances confined to the early morning.
