CUDAHY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Cudahy Police Department has released details about the death that took place at Eagle Sports Range in Cudahy on Friday, Aug. 28.

They say the CPD received a call at 1:31 p.m. on Friday to a call of an accidental shooting. When officers arrived, they found a 25-year-old man from Franklin who had suffered a gunshot wound to his chest.

The man has been identified by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office as 25-year-old Simranjit Singh Randhawa.

First aid was provided by responders before Randhawa was taken to Froedtert Hospital to be treated. He did not survive the injuries.

CPD says they are working alongside Eagle Sports Range to determine the cause of the accident.

Staff called 911 and provided aid before EMS arrived and transported the man to a nearby hospital, the range said.

He did not survive his injuries.
