MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee man was sentenced on Wednesday, Feb. 19, for kidnapping a woman from a parking garage and sexually assaulting her last year. 

Fifty-seven-year-old James Cole was sentenced to 85 years in prison. Cole faced multiple felony charges. 

According to the criminal complaint, Cole used a long knife to threaten the victim, who was sitting in her car at the Grand Avenue parking garage at 275 W. Wisconsin Ave. 

The complaint says Cole forced the victim to drive him to multiple locations under the threat of violence and assaulted her.

Milwaukee police were alerted to what happened when the victim sought medical attention and provided a detailed account to MPD. The investigation led to Cole’s arrest after his fingerprints were identified on the victim’s vehicle. During a subsequent interview, the criminal complaint quotes Cole admitting to several actions described by the victim.

Court documents show that Cole plead not guilty at a hearing in January.
